Rustic Yorkshire Wedding Venue The Priests House

The Priests House is a hidden gem in the North Yorkshire countryside a short drive up the road from Bolton Abbey a stunning Priory in the Yorkshire National Park a lovely spot for wedding portraits if you are up for getting creative.

Alice was getting ready at Howgill Lodge Barden A stunning wooden cabin in the woods where all her bridesmaids were getting their hair and makeup finished. Luke Was waiting at The Priests House with his best man and groomsmen it was an intermate wedding with around 45 guests. Alice arrived 10 minutes before the ceremony that started at 11:30 am.

Colourful Confetti

The ceremony was short and sweet vows were exchanged with a few tears by the groom. After signing the register Alice & Luke made their way outside the priest’s house where all their guests were waiting ready to throw confetti over them as they walked down the path. We were super lucky as just moments after we photographed the confetti the heavens opened and what can only be described as torrential rain as we rushed over to a car to make our way over to Bolton Abbey for some romantic portraits in front of the Priory.

Speeches & First Dance

Once we got back from portraits it was time to sit down for the speeches. Two of the maid of honour’s and two of the best men got up to say some kind words about Alice and Luke and a few funny stories. Food was served and before you knew it the evening guests started to arrive around 7 pm ready for the first dance and rap up the night with some evening portraits in the rain using umbrellas.
